GOALS & VISION

IMPROVE Governance

Bylaws should be enforced fairly, consistently, and without bias so every member is held to the same clear standard.
No favoritism, no exceptions—only accountability, transparency, and equal treatment to uphold trust and integrity across the organization.

PROMOTE Transparency, Merit and Inclusivity

APPNA committee appointments should require mandatory conflict-of-interest disclosures comparable to standards in hospital and nonprofit governance. No member should serve in a role that benefits their personal interests. I will push for recusal policies, transparent appointment processes, and annual governance audits that are reported to all members — not just the BOD.

MAKE APPNA meetings affordable to members (especially early career physicians)

Annual meeting registration costs have become a barrier for many members — particularly young physicians and those early in their careers. I will push for tiered pricing, scholarship slots, and a review of meeting cost structures to ensure APPNA's flagship events are accessible to the members they are meant to serve.

INCREASE Membership by Offering

Compelling Value-added Benefits

APPNA membership must offer tangible, year-round value — not just an annual meeting. This means expanding digital resources, mentorship programs, professional development tools, and community support that makes membership meaningful for a physician at any career stage, in any city.

STRENGTHEN APPNA Department of Education to Promote Research and Grants Opportunities

APPNA's educational mission deserves a permanent institutional home — not just committees that change with every leadership cycle. A dedicated Department of Education would provide continuity, strategic direction, and accountability for research grants, CME programs, and educational partnerships with institutions in Pakistan and the US.

EXPAND Mentorship Programs, CAREER Guidance and VOLUNTEER Opportunities

The YPC infrastructure built in 2023 — 600+ residency matches in one year, $200K endowment, 300+ annual observership placements, career guidance initiative for US highschoolers— is a model that should be expanded, funded, and made permanent. Young physicians are not a peripheral concern. They are APPNA's future.
